We are pleased to inform you that the latest NX 1847 Series Critical Maintenance Software fix is now available for download from the Siemens PLM Download Server.

Please disregard this announcement if you are on the current NX 1872 Series.

Note:  Automatic updates will not be available for releases on NX 1847 Series after NX 1867, including NX 1867.4400.  Users who are on NX 1867 with the automatic update option turned on will be notified to download and install the next release on the NX 1872 Series.  If NX 1867.4400 is preferred, users must download the release from the GTAC Download Server.

Looking to get your graphics driver playing nice with your NX?

In this article, we’ll help you ascertain your current Nvidia Graphics driver version and compare it to the certified list from Siemens GTAC. You may have received an error, read a post on the Siemens PLM Community site, or GTAC has informed you to update or roll-back your graphics driver… now what?

Let's be clear: searching Nvidia for the latest graphics driver may not be the best answer here.

On June 21, 2019, Siemens PLM released NX 1863, the first major update to NX in the new “Continuous Release” paradigm. NX 1847 was the first in the NX continuous release series, followed by monthly releases (1851, 1855, 1859).

Our CAD guru and NX instructor Matt Martin has prepared a handy 10-page PDF on how to install updates for NX Continuous Releases to walk you through the steps.

Questions it answers include:

  • What version should I download?
  • Are the older versions of NX still around?
  • Where do I find stuff that is release independent like the Machinery Library?
  • How do I obtain a copy of NX 10 for instance?
  • Is it recommended to install a new version of NX for testing on a client machine currently being used for production with NX 1847 Series installed?

In order to better respond to the ever-growing simulation needs of our customers, Siemens PLM Software has decided to replace the NX Motion Simulation (UG11031) product and the NX Mechanism product (UG2620) with the product NX Motion (NX30557). This solver provides the same as well as additional enhanced multi-body simulation solver capabilities.

The replacement and retirement of NX Motion Simulation (UG11031) and Mechanism product (UG2620) will take full effect at the release of NX 13. To allow customers to gradually transition to the new product and solver, the replacement product (NX Motion, NX30557) is available today with NX 11. This ensures that customers have ample time to validate the new solver technology on proprietary data and processes.
