Get to know Bruce

Q. What inspired you to join the Applied team?

A. The opportunity to expand my learning and do more with Teamcenter and PLM. I was kind of pigeonholed in my last position.

Q. What are your areas of expertise?

A. Teamcenter implementation and administration. UNIX Administration.

Q. What do you do for Applied?

A. I am a PLM Engineer. Ideally implementing and configuring a Teamcenter environment for customers.

Q. Tell us about yourself – what’s your background and education?

A. I did not finish college; however, I went to Oakland University and Central Michigan University. My education and background in this field were acquired through on-the-job training, and I have been involved in this field for about 28 years.

Q. How did you get started in your field? What excited you about it?

A. I started at a value-added reseller, Integrated Systems Technologies (IST) as a warehouse worker. I shipped software to customers. However, when taking the position, my intent was to gain knowledge and move to the helpdesk, which took about eight months. The rest is history. I really enjoy engineering, or more basically, building “things.” I have a story about what really got me excited about this field, but that would be a bit too long.

Q. Where are you located?

A. I have just relocated to Macomb, Michigan with my Fiancée.

Q. Where would we find you when you’re not at work?

A. Hanging out and doing numerous activities with my Fiancée.

Q. If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

A. It’s hard to pick just one, I love food, and I love to eat. But, if I could only pick one, I’d say steak.

Q. Tell us three fun facts about yourself.

A. I’m getting married to the love of my life on Nov 9th 2024!

B. I used to ride in motorcycle track days and was going to get my race license until I crashed on the track.

C. My mother was a nun before she married my father and had me!
