Responsibilities

• Ability to interface with a wide range of users and instruct and mentor them.
• Provide timely technical support for Applied CAx customers.
• Constantly expanding your own abilities through on-demand learning and skills development.
• Stay up to date with latest NX versions and current modeling and manufacturing techniques.
• Develop NX CAD/CAM training with NX in a Managed environment (Teamcenter).
• Co-develop and lead Teamcenter user training.
• Travel to customers locations when necessary to lead training, mentorship, or gather requirements for project work.
• Develop NX Site Standards, custom templates, for modeling and drawings; preferably with the use of NXcustom.
• Develop custom applications for clients using NX Application Launcher, Attribute Mapping, NX Checkmate, and configuring the NX Reuse Library with the Siemens Machinery Library. NX Routing applications for Electrical, Mechanical and Schematics.
• Become familiar with NX Line Designer, NX Physical Architecture Modeler, Mechatronics Concept Designer, NX Join, NX Algorithmic Programming, NX Implicit Modeling, NX Structure Designer & customization, NX PMI with automated authoring.

Job Summary: 

As a Project Manager in our PLM Services division, you will be responsible for leading the successful execution of PLM-related projects, ensuring they meet client expectations, are delivered on time, and stay within scope and budget. You will collaborate closely with clients, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders to deliver complex, integrated PLM solutions that improve product development processes across industries. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Lead and manage end-to-end PLM implementation and optimization projects for external clients, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. 

• Work closely with clients to understand their business processes and requirements, providing expert guidance on how to best leverage PLM systems to meet their goals. 

• Develop detailed project plans, timelines, resource allocation, and deliverables based on client needs, while ensuring alignment with business objectives. 

• Act as the main point of contact between the client and internal consulting teams, facilitating communication and managing expectations. 

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, IT, supply chain, R&D, etc.) within the client organization to ensure smooth integration of PLM systems with other enterprise platforms (e.g., ERP, CAD). 

• Provide expert advice on PLM best practices, system configurations, and process improvements tailored to client-specific challenges. 

• Manage project risks, issues, and changes, ensuring effective resolution and mitigating potential project disruptions. 

• Lead project workshops, training sessions, and change management initiatives to ensure successful adoption of PLM solutions by client teams. 

• Conduct post-project reviews and assessments to ensure project success and provide recommendations for further PLM optimization. 

• Identify opportunities for additional consulting engagements or follow-up services that add value to the client. 

Education, Experience & Skills: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 

• 5+ years of project management experience, with a focus on delivering PLM system implementations for external clients across industries such as manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, electronics, or consumer goods. 

• Proven experience with PLM systems  (e.g., PTC Windchill, Siemens Teamcenter (preferred), Dassault Systèmes ENOVIA, or Oracle Agile PLM) in a consulting or client-facing role. 

• Strong client management skills with a demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic, multi-client environment. 

• Demonstrated success in managing multiple projects with competing priorities. 

• Extensive experience in managing PLM implementation and integration projects, including defining project scope, timelines, and resource needs. 

• Ability to engage with senior-level client stakeholders to provide thought leadership and technical expertise on PLM strategies. 

• Excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills, with the ability to quickly adapt to changing project requirements and client needs. 

• Strong knowledge of PLM processes, product data management, and digital transformation within product development lifecycles. 

• Familiarity with enterprise project management tools such as MS Project or Jira. 

• Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business language. 

• Experience working in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project management methodologies. 

• Ability to travel to client sites when necessary.

The Opportunity

Join a premier FEA/CFD consultancy in a unique dual role: 60% advanced CFD consulting and 40% Senior Application Engineer supporting Siemens STAR-CCM+ clients through our sister company, AppliedCAx.

You’ll tackle complex thermal-fluid simulation challenges across industries—from controlled environment agriculture and electronics cooling to aerospace to rocket motors to hypersonic vehicles to fluid-flow mixing to turbo machinery to mundane HVAC—while engaging directly with customers through demos, webinars, and technical presentations. If you strive to be a world-class simulation engineer, this is the place for you.

What You’ll Do

CFD Consulting: Lead advanced simulations in STAR-CCM+, manage projects from proposal to delivery, and produce high-quality technical reports. Travel to client sites for kick-off meetings and presentations (4–7 days/month domestic).

Application Engineering: Conduct client demonstrations of STAR-CCM+ and to a lesser extent HEEDS, AMESIM and, at times, how it all integrates into Simcenter 3D. Provide pre/post-sales technical support and create webinars and technical content for the Siemens simulation community.

A Typical Week: Morning—present CFD results for airflow optimization within a large datacenter. Afternoon—demo STAR-CCM+ to a prospect exploring electronics thermal management for satellite systems. Next week—site visit to a California rocket manufacturer to talk about thermal-stress modeling of 3D printed rocket motors, then record a webinar on turbulence modeling best practices with AI.

What We’re Looking For

Required: – 5+ years professional CFD simulation experience – MS or PhD in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering – Expert proficiency in Siemens STAR-CCM+ – Strong written/verbal communication skills – U.S. Citizenship (export control requirements)

Preferred: – PhD and/or PE license – Experience with Simcenter 3D, HEEDS, Amesim – Scripting skills (Python, Java, MATLAB) – Prior application engineering or technical sales experience
