Integrating Mendix and Teamcenter

October 07, 2026

Integrating Teamcenter data into a Mendix application gives occasional users, like shop floor operators, quality inspectors, suppliers, and sales staff, a simplified way to access parts, BOMs, documents, and workflows without navigating the full Teamcenter Rich Client or Active Workspace. In this technical walkthrough, Applied CAx Software Engineer Emily Dederick demonstrates how to build this integration using the Siemens-supported Teamcenter connector for Mendix.

The video covers why this integration matters: a single source of truth across systems, reduced upgrade risk by keeping customizations in Mendix rather than Teamcenter, faster prototyping with Mendix’s visual modeling, and the ability to use Mendix as a central hub connecting Teamcenter, ERP, MES, and sensor data into one digital thread.

From there, Emily walks through the technical foundation, including Teamcenter’s SOA services, session-based authentication, and UID-based object retrieval, before moving into a hands-on implementation: setting up a Mendix application, installing the TC connector and Teamcenter extension modules, configuring login credentials, and retrieving item revisions, BOMs, and workflow data. The walkthrough closes with common pitfalls to avoid, including oversized BOM queries, expired session tokens, and data mismatches between test and production environments.
