This month, we’re answering questions about NX and Teamcenter.
Question #1
Q: Is the parameter of Machining Data Libraries automatically generated from NX, or do I need to fill in from the tooling catalog?
A: The data or parameter for the speeds and feeds needs to be populated by the user for the cutter, cutting conditions, and material type.
Answered by Michael Grant, Design & Manufacturing Services Manager at Applied CAx
Question #2
Q: How does Teamcenter manage supplier collaboration? How can it be integrated into supply chain management?
A: Teamcenter enables controlled, secure collaboration with suppliers by providing:
- Role-based access to product data, documents, and specifications.
- Supplier portals for submitting deliverables and managing quality documentation.
- Automated workflows for RFQs, PPAP, and supplier part approvals.
Integration into supply chain processes ensures that external partners are working from current data, reducing errors and delays while improving transparency and compliance.
