What’s New in NX CAD 11 – Tips and Tricks Webinar Tutorial

July 12, 2017

With the end of maintenance for NX10.0.3 approaching this November, now’s a great time to join us for this presentation on the new NX 11 features. The updated user interface makes it easier to switch between parts you’re working on, while at the same time maintaining the last working application of those parts.

For example, if you’re working on the drawing for a part in the Drafting Application & need to make a modeling change, switching to the model will also change to the Modeling Application. No longer will you be banging your head against your monitor looking for Modeling tools while you’re actually in Drafting. Finding the part you want is also improved by providing a preview of your parts as well as CTRL+TAB to access them.

Other features that we demonstrate in this webinar include:

  • You can now sweep a solid body along a 2D or 3D path using Swept Volume. This allows you to create features the same way they’re manufactured with fewer steps.
  • With Flattening and Forming, you can flatten curved surfaces, make changes and reform, or map curves from the flattened surface back to the original.
  • Surface modeling is sped up with the addition of Variable Offset Faces and Combine tools to create geometry quickly and efficiently.
  • Sketching is also improved with the addition of Scale on First Dimension. This tool allows you to quickly scale your entire sketch when you started either way too big or way too small.
  • The Sketch Relations Browser has been added to more quickly interrogate and debug your sketches. New sketch constraints allows solving of sketches with fewer construction lines. NX now utilizes the new Lightworks Iray®+ rendering engine to produce high-performance rendering without leaving the CAD tool.
